David Schwartz recently joined Netflix as the Manager of Theatrical Programming, and is responsible for programming the Paris Theater in Manhattan. He was the Chief Curator of Museum of the Moving Image from 1985 through 2018. He teaches film history at Purchase College, and was the host of the Emelin Theatre Film Club, the Cinema Arts Centre Preview Club, and the monthly series Hooray for Hollywood at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville. He was the first film programming consultant for the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.) for their new venue, the REACH.
He received a special Career Achievement from the New York Film Critics Circle in 2018 for his 33-year tenure at Museum of the Moving Image.
